About the Owner

IN THE BEGINNING - My first exposure to computers was during my enlistment with the United States Navy in the 1970s. They were very simple systems with just input devices that determined how output devices functioned.

In the early 1980s, I began working with the computers that were being used in the automotive industry. Again,they were very simple systems with just input devices that determined how output devices functioned. It was in 1991 that I obtained my first desktop computer. It was a far cry from what is on the market today. There was no hard drive, it had just two 5 1/4" floppy disk drives. One disk contained the program, the other held the user-specific data.

THE CHANGE IN TECHNOLOGY -In August of 1995, the world of computers changed drastically with the release of Windows 95. Suddenly audio and graphic content were brought to the forefront. People wanted more and better software. However, the industry was growing fast, perhaps too fast. Performance and compatibility issues abounded.

SO IT BEGINS- It was then that two friends started working together to learn how things worked and, more importantly, why they didn't work. It wasn't long before those two friends were fixing computer issues for family and friends. Soon it became friends of family and family of friends as well. Then, on one Sunday evening in September of 1999, over dinner and after a long weekend of fixing computer problems, one friend looked at the other and said "If we are going to do this, we should get paid. With those words Byte Me Computer Services was born.

THE NEW ADVENTURE - In late 2007, one friend moved on to pursue other interests. However, the simple concept of fast, reliable, personal and secure on-site computer services continues to this day. Many thousands of computers later, my reputation still depends on every single customer's total satisfaction.
